In a previous life, before South Fork™ Vodka, its founders met while working at an applied physics laboratory. Together and with their team, they built precision systems designed to isolate and remove undesirable compounds at the molecular level using finely tuned ultrasonic vibrations. Then it hit us, we could use the same innovative techniques we invented to revolutionize the spirit industry. Distillers still relied on a process of heating and separating complex compounds that hadn't functionally changed in 200 years -  using brute force and simple repetition to achieve a smooth finish. The lack of innovation was labeled tradition -  and every brand simply touted how many times they had repeated the process. Why not do better?

So we blended our love for our local South Fork community with our skills as distillers to create a new line of premium spirits.

The result, a vodka with a smoother mouthfeel and cleaner tasting finish that is quickly growing a following nation wide. We didn’t set out to make “another premium vodka.” We set out to change the industry. Old-school distilling was built on tradition, ours is built on control.

We truly are. South Fork Vodka was started by Jon and his longtime friend Dan, whose shared background in science helped inspire the company from the very beginning. What started as an idea between friends grew into Nevada County’s first craft spirits company, built on curiosity, craftsmanship, and a passion for creating exceptional spirits.

Today, Jon leads as our Master Distiller, and his wife Katrina handles marketing and outbound communications. Together, Jon and Katrina run the program day to day, supported by a team that is proud to keep the family spirit of South Fork alive as the brand grows.
